This is mesmerizing. Did I say that about something else I posted? Well, they’re both mesmerizing. I like that word; what of it?
It’s funny: this metaphor is supposed to help me understand and sympathize with the way rational arguments sometimes discomfort theists, but in a real sense it had the opposite effect.
I like fireplaces. I like campfires. If I never see another burning log, I will miss it, and to that extent I can sympathize. But I’m grateful to Mr. Harris for pointing out that burning wood is more dangerous than cigarette smoke. I learned something valuable, something that could potentially save my life. I might still cook a hot dog over an open fire — maybe — but if I do, it will be an informed choice, and for that I have to say, “thanks.”
Frustrated by the Susan G. Komen situation and came across this. Stephen Colbert is hilarious when he loses it.
Nice work, ten-year-old!
