Why Marina Del Rey rocks

I’ve been living in Marina Del Rey, the world’s largest man-made marina (for now at least) for a bit over two years, and it’s definitely the best place I’ve ever lived. The beach and the marina are both walking distance, and there are restaurants and shops within easy biking distance as well. The people are great, and the weather is perfect. There are a few other things as well:

A few weeks ago we had a gray whale hanging out in our back yard.

Last night we walked about a hundred yards to see an amazing fireworks show. We could have seen it from our balcony, but we weren’t sure where it would be exactly. Nothing is more boring than video of fireworks (unless someone is blowing themselves up), but here’s the finale anyway. At the end you can see a bird silhouetted against the explosions.
